Understanding thoughts through contemplation, observing thoughts through meditation and expanding consciousness through awareness and knowledge is the only way I know of breaking free of annihilating thought patterns. Question the monkey mind, understand the monkey mind and transcend the monkey kind is my mantra.
Here are the thoughts that our Ego keeps us trapped in:
1. I am not good enough.
Well, who is? Once upon a time, the mighty dinosaurs ruled the planet and no fiercer creature stood in their path. And then an asteroid hit the planet and they were wiped off the face of the earth. Good enough or not, you will experience annihilation.
And, how exactly are you not good enough? You carry the infinite beauty of Star Dust and the infinite ruthlessness of Evolution. The Universe worked in mysterious ways, scientific ways and magical ways to create your consciousness. You are a child of this magnificent Universe that is 13.7 billion years old. Your story already has a great beginning. You are part of something infinitely larger than you and you carry in your body, the insides of Stars from billions of years ago.
And, not good enough for what?
To achieve your dreams? To live a happy life? To experience love? To be healthy? To be rich? Who told you that you are not good enough? A bunch of rejections, tragic life experiences, society? Well, frankly, it's you who are telling yourself that you are not good enough. Rejections, tragedies, pain, struggle and the box of society is part of life and reality. Don't look at it as obstacles or hurdles that tear you apart but look at it as tools that expand your Consciousness and that help you connect with your Soul.
You are good enough for the truth, for reality, for consciousness, for Energy, for this Universe, for your Soul, for life, for pain, for struggle, for endurance, for hard work. And you are good enough to manifest that which calls out to your Soul, that which is your role on this planet and that which makes your Energy, a high vibrational Energy.
So, what will make you feel good enough?
Define what being good enough means to you. Being rich? A successful career? A beautiful face? A happy, love filled life? A life of purpose?
None of these things will make you feel like you are good enough every moment because you are not supposed to feel like you are good enough all the time. That is not what life is about. Life is about surviving and surpassing and being. Wanting to feel good enough is an Ego trap because it assumes that you are not already good enough.
Why do you keep playing this game?
Are you taking the easy way out? Are you letting your Ego get in the way? Are you too scared of failures? Terrible things happened to you in the past?
So, how do you feel good enough?
Stop looking for external validation and look inward to your Soul. Do what scares you and what adds meaning to your life. Walk the path that calls out to you. Change your perceptions. Don't blindly believe your thoughts because thoughts are not reality. Only you can make yourself feel worthy and understand that it's a choice.
2. What will others think if I do this or if I show them the real me?
So, why do you care what others think?
Because you want others to like you, appreciate you and to see in you that which you yourself are unable to see. Because you cannot see and feel your own powers and intelligence, you want others to see and feel your powers, your beauty and your intelligence. You want a stamp of approval and validation.
This is what our conditioning and our mental wiring does to us.
So, how do you stop caring what others think of you and your choices?
You have to start caring what you think of yourself so much that you no longer care what others think of you. Stop giving your power to see your beauty and to manifest your Soul's path to others because your true power emanates from your Core.
Besides, how can others know your story? You are the one living it. They might judge you as weird or make a hurtful comment but most people you know are not trying to hurt you or offend you. They are too busy living their own life and dealing with their own problems. In a way, you already have their love and support because most of them are not looking to tear you down.
Understand that most people view you from their perception of reality, their perception of what is right and what is weird. And perceptions are always up for questioning because they are not reality.
3. He or she is ahead of me by leaps and bounds. He or she is so brave and beautiful. I wish I could be like them.
Why do you compare?
Because you want what he or she has: love, happiness, money, health, success, a better job, a beautiful life, a beautiful body.
How do you stop comparing?
Figure out who you are, what is your life purpose, what is it that you want out of your life and walk that path as best as you can.
If you want to be where the objects of your comparison are, learn and understand how they got where they are through books or by asking.
Finally, understand that happiness, love, abundance is something that our Souls have the ability to manifest. It's not something meant for a chosen few. Change your perception and expand your consciousness.
Understand that the love you have for yourself is the greatest love you will ever know. So, take great care of yourself.
